As you may know, Inventshift is run remotely, and we love to travel the world, meeting interesting people and connecting with others to share our love of social enterprise. Last week we attended the Uprise Festival in Amsterdam. We were exhibiting, and we attended with the purpose to find out more about the latest tech scene, and also to see what people thought about Inventshift!
The feel of the conference is laid back, casual and relaxed. Uprise don’t want to be a traditional conference or networking event, and that was apparent in it’s layout and design. We were in the ‘marketplace’, where there were over 100 other startups, all showcasing their ideas to the public. We had an oak barrel for our startup stand (see the vlog), and the lighting was dark and atmospheric, which definitely gave it a different vibe.
We spoke to lots of people throughout the day on what our aims are for Inventshift and to meet other social entrepreneurs. We got a lot of positive feedback, and people wanting to sign up to the site (it’s free) so we were really pleased!
There was over 48 hours of stage content at the festival, and over 100 speakers. We would have loved to have listened to them all, but we were just too busy chatting!
Check out our vlog below for a highlights reel of the day. We’d definitely recommend attending Uprise if you’re interested in the event! The next one is in Dublin in October.
At the event, we were approached by Silicon Republic, who took a picture and wrote a feature naming us as one of ‘16 start-ups to watch’ - which is very exciting!
If you’re interested in joining the platform and making a positive difference with your business, we’d love to hear from you.
